A Swahili online keyboard lets you type Kiswahili in your browser without installing a language pack. Modern Swahili uses the same Latin alphabet as English — no diacritics or special Unicode characters in everyday writing.
KeyLingo adds what plain QWERTY lacks: one-tap digraph insertion, the critical ng' apostrophe, optional virtual keyboard, voice typing, and a speed test for practice.
The apostrophe in ng' is not optional — it marks a glottal stop that changes meaning. Compare:
Kiswahili uses 23 native letters (no Q or X in native words) plus nine common digraphs. Standard BAKITA orthography does not use accent marks in modern texts.

Because Swahili uses only standard Latin A–Z, all Unicode math-style variants work perfectly. For styled output, use the Swahili Font Generator.
Kiswahili typing, digraphs, voice, and privacy — answered accurately.
Usually no. Modern Kiswahili uses standard Latin QWERTY without diacritics. This tool adds one-tap digraph helpers (ch, sh, ny, ng, ng'), an optional virtual keyboard, and voice typing — no system settings required.
They are different sounds. ng is smooth like "singing" (ngoma = drum). ng' includes a glottal stop and uses an apostrophe (ng'ombe = cow). The apostrophe is part of correct spelling.
Native Kiswahili words do not use Q or X. Loanwords are usually respelled (e.g. "x" may become "ks"). Our QWERTY still includes Q and X for English mixed typing and foreign names.
Not in modern standard orthography regulated by BAKITA (Baraza la Kiswahili la Taifa). Everyday texting and official documents use plain Latin letters.
